Main Window

Main window of CommunityMate contains the following areas:

• Toolbar lets you get quick and easy access to the most important functions of the program.
• Folders View control contains hierarchically ordered virtual folders that serve as convenient storage for all your communities. This control has a context menu that lets you quickly perform actions on virtual folders.
• Communities view control contains all communities stored in the current folder. This control has a context menu that lets you quickly perform actions with the communities.
• Bottom-right page control contains following pages:

Groups page contains group list which lets you view, subscribe and open in browser community groups. Also using it you can view content of subscribed ones. On the bottom of this page you can switch group categories if you're working with HTML-based forum or select groups to subscribe if you're working with Usenet newsgroups. Orange button means that group is subscribed and if you click on it list of topics which are placed in this group will be brought up. Log page provides access to program's log. This pane has a context menu that lets you work with the log.

• Main menu contains following items:
  • "File" submenu contains following items:
    • "Add community" item can be used to add new community (brings up New Community Wizard).
    • "Properties" item can be used to edit properties of the currently selected community.
    • "Remove Selected Community" can be used to remove currently selected community(s). Warning: deleted data is unrecoverable.
    • "Install template" menu item opens Open file dialog and prompts to select either *.cmtp or *.cmta files to install.
    • "Hide to tray" item just hides the program to tray (i.e. minimizes the application and removes its button from the taskbar).
    • "Exit" item can be used for instant exit.
  • "View" submenu contains following items:
    • "Show/Hide folders pane" item shows/hides the folders tree on the left side of the window.
    • "Show Recent Post Updates" item brings up notification window in case if any new posts have been detected within the current session.
  • "Tools" submenu contains following items:
    • "Clear recent post updates list" menu item hides notification window and clears post updates list. You may want to use it if you've inspected all the current updates.
    • "Clear community data" item can be used to clear all the data of the selected community from the database.
    • "Options" menu item brings up Options dialog.
  • "Help" submenu contains following informative/user support items:
    • "About..." - brings up About dialog.
    • "Index" item opens Help Index.
    • "Contents" item opens Help Table of Contents.
    • "Web site" menu item opens RightSoft web site in browser.
    • "Send e-mail" item creates new e-mail message with your default e-mail client. You may want to use it if you have any questions/suggestions/bug reports etc.
    • "Technical support" item opens RightSoft Technical Support Form in browser.
    • "CommunityMate on the Web" menu item opens product home page in browser. Using it you can view all latest news, updates, offers etc. regarding to the program.
    • "Request a template" item can be used to request template for a community you're interested in, which can't be recognized by the program. Once you post Request Template Form our web server will search the database for suitable template. If the server finds the template, it will give you back a link to download such template, if it isn't - it'll send to us a e-mail request to create one. Once template is created - we'll notify you by e-mail.
    • "Enter registration code" menu item opens corresponding dialog to enter you registration code. The program requires restart after entering the code.
    • "Purchase" item opens RightSoft Order Form in browser.
    • "Check for new version" menu item checks our web server for updates. If updates are detected the program will give you back a link to download the latest one.
