Manual Reconstruction of Multi-Part Messages

In most cases Express NewsPictures can automatically combine multiple parts into one file. But sometimes the program may fail to do that due to incorrect subjects, headers and some other reasons. The manual reconstruction of multi-part messages lets you merge the parts that can't be combined automatically.

To combine parts manually just select the already downloaded parts, right-click on them and select the "Combine selected parts manually" context menu item as shown in Example 1. This will open the "Order for combine" dialog shown in Example 2.

This dialog lets you specify all the parts to be combined and their order. You should place parts in the right order to correctly combine them (the top one will be the first, the next in the list - the second and so on). To arrange the parts in the correct order use the "Move up" and "Move down" buttons.

You should also uncheck extra parts which are not related to the file you want to get. If you try to combine parts of different files, the program will not combine them correctly. To check/uncheck parts just click on the marks on the left from the message subjects. There should be at least two parts marked.

By default the resulting file will be placed to the newsgroup's destination folder, but you can change its location using the "Destination folder" edit field.

After completing all previous steps press the "Combine" button to combine marked parts into one file. The messages containing the source parts will not be deleted automatically, because you may want to recombine them in the future. If combining is successful, the result file will be added to the current newsgroup and selected automatically (instead of the "Show downloaded picture automatically" option).
