• "Message filters" group contains controls that let you adjust the filter parameters applied to the newsgroups display. The parameters are:

1. "Minimum attachment size to display" edit field determines the minimum message size to be shown. All messages with lesser size will not be shown, except those that have multipart symbols in the subject (like [/] and (/)). The size should be specified in kilobytes.

2. "Maximum attachment size to display" edit field determines the maximum message size to be shown. All the messages with bigger size will not be shown.

3. "Exclude subject substrings" edit field may be used to disable the display of messages containing specific words in their  subjects. The filter's value contains words separated by spaces. Any messages which contain any of these words in their subjects will not be shown.

• "Purging" group contains options which let you adjust the automatic cache purging options or disable this feature at all. 

1. "Purge downloaded after N days" fields determine whether the program should automatically clear the cache and the period for which the downloaded messages should be stored in the cache (7 days by default). 

2. "Delete downloaded files as well" - mark this checkbox if you want to delete the downloaded files when the cache is cleared.

• "Save headers for favorites" checkbox determines if the program stores message headers for favorites newsgroups. This ability lets the program to process favorite newsgroups much faster because when this option is enabled there is no need to retrieve the same headers each time.
