Q: How to change default values that will be
applied with the new link creation?
A: To change default link values select the
"Tools"->"Default link values" menu
item, or press Ctrl+Alt+E, or mark
the "Default" checkbox while editing any link's
properties.
Q: How to change the string value of the link
that is displayed under the "Name" column?
A: Edit link properties by selecting the "Properties"
context menu item and in the "Description" page
set the desirable value to the "Title (short description)"
edit field. Right Web Monitor can also automatically
extract title in case the monitored resource is the HTML
page.
Q: How to set up the email notification alert?
A: To set up the e-mail notification alert please
follow the steps below:
- Select the link(s) you want to set notification,
right-click on it(them)
or press Alt+Enter. Link properties dialog will
appear.
- On the dialog please open Actions tab, mark on
"Send e-mail message to"
check box and enter the e-mail address you want the
notification letters to be sent to.
- Perform the previous step for the tab "On
content unavailable" if you
want to receive notification letters about resource
unavailability.
- Press OK button to apply changes.
Also
SMTP connection should be configured (one time) in
order to send notification letters. To do that please follow the steps
below:
- Press the "Options" toolbar button or F10. Options
dialog will appear.
- On the dialog please click the Connections > SMTP
item and fill the
fields below with corresponding
values. Field and values descriptions can be found by
this link.
Q: How to configure Right Web Monitor to send
notifications via SMS ?
A: Go to link properties, open "Actions" tab and
check "Send SMS notification" check box. In the edit field
below please enter the destination using
number@yoursmsgateway.com format, where number is
destination phone number and yoursmsgateway is the address
at your cell phone provider which is being used for
sending e-mail messages as SMS messages. Please refer to
your cell phone provider for more info.
