Example - Multiple Request Scripts: Recording Scripts using Multiple Request Script Recorder
This example shows you how to create multiple request scripts using
Multiple Request Script Recorder.
Let's presume that you need to monitor new software releases for ATI
RADEON for Windows XP. The page that contains version numbers and download link
can't be accessed directly, so you should use multiple request scripts to
monitor it. To create such script please follow the steps below:
| 1. Create
a new link with URL equal to
https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&folderID=27 |
|
| 2. Go to Link properties (select it in
Links View and press Alt+Enter),
open "Request" page, select "Use
multiple request script" switch and press "Rec." button (see
screenshot #1).
Multiple Request Script Recorder window will appear. |

| 3. Click on the
"Windows XP Drivers and Software" link as shown on the
screenshot #2. |

| 4. Click on the
"RADEON" link as show on the screenshot #3. |
screenshot #3 |
| 5. At last you
have got to the destination page
(screenshot #4). Click "Save" button. Now
"Request" page will look like one on
the screenshot #5. |

| 6. Now
the program has access to the destination page and can monitor any change
within it. See the screenshot #6 for text representation of this page
in Right Web Monitor (Links View

Using this example the program will notify you every time when visible text
is modified on this page. However if you want be notified only when new CATALYST
driver is released (for example) you should to use
Smart Content Analysis
instead of Exact Content Analysis which
is used by default. See the example
Smart Content Analysis: analysing certain fragment of a web page to
figure out how to correctly set up
Smart Content Analysis
method.
