    HTTP Connection

By default Right Web Monitor uses the default HTTP connection properties stored in the system registry. If you want to change these properties you may change the options described below.

    • "Direct connection" switch whether the program uses direct connection to the internet.
    • "Use HTTP Proxy" switch whether the program uses HTTP proxy to connect to the internet.
    • "HTTP Proxy settings" control set contains controls which let you configure HTTP proxy server settings. There are such controls as:
      • "Proxy host name or IP address" - use this edit field to specify the HTTP proxy server name or IP address. You can specify either proxy server network name (like PROXY1) or its IP address (like 192.168.1.2).
      • "Proxy port" - determines the port on which the HTTP proxy server is set up (8080 by default).
      • "Username (login)" - enter here the user name used to authenticate you on the HTTP proxy server.
      • "Password" - specify the password to access the HTTP proxy server.
    • "Use SOCKS Proxy" switch whether the program uses SOCKS proxy to connect to the internet.
    • "SOCKS Proxy settings" control set contains controls which let you configure SOCKS proxy server settings. There are such controls as:
      • "Proxy host name or IP address" - use this edit field to specify the SOCKS proxy server name or IP address. You can specify either proxy server's network name (like PROXY1) or its IP address (like 192.168.1.2).
      • "Proxy port" - determines the port on which the SOCKS proxy server is set up (1080 by default).
      • Select your proxy server's version from the "Socks proxy version" drop-down list (usually it is Socks4).
      • "Username (login)" - enter here the user name used to authenticate you on the proxy server1.
      • "Password" - specify the password to access the proxy server1.
    • Specify the user agent you want to report to the host server using the "User agent" drop-down list. You can manually enter a custom user agent name or select a predefined one. You may need to change the user agent name because some servers allow to access their contents only if the user agent's name contains the "Mozilla compatible" string.

1 - Supported only by the Socks5 proxy.
